1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using BuilderBooks.ai ("the Service," operated by Builders of AI, LLC), you agree to these Terms & Policies. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Description of Service

BuilderBooks.ai is a software-as-a-service tool that converts uploaded bank statements into financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, General Ledger) for accounting firms and bookkeepers.

3. AI-Assisted Processing

BuilderBooks.ai uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude) to automatically classify and categorize financial transactions. AI-generated classifications are a starting point, not a substitute for professional judgment -- the Service includes an "Ask My Accountant" review step specifically so a qualified person can confirm or correct any uncertain classification before a final report is generated. You are responsible for reviewing generated reports for accuracy before relying on them.

4. Third-Party Services

Providing the Service relies on several third-party providers, including but not limited to: Anthropic (AI processing), Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (data storage and authentication), Make.com (workflow automation), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (email delivery). Your use of the Service is also subject to the applicable terms of these providers where relevant.

5. Subscription, Billing, and Renewal

• Plans are billed monthly and renew automatically each month unless canceled.
• The initial purchase price covers your first billing cycle; the recurring monthly price applies starting the following cycle.
• Additional transactions beyond your plan's included amount are billed in blocks, charged immediately at the time of use.
• Cancellation: you may cancel at any time. Canceling stops future renewals, but you retain full access through the end of the billing cycle you've already paid for. No refunds or credits are provided for the unused portion of a current cycle.
• Plan changes: upgrading to a higher plan charges the price difference and applies a prorated adjustment to your next invoice. Downgrading to a lower plan takes effect immediately with no refund or credit for the difference.

6. Data and Privacy

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encryption and access controls provided by our infrastructure providers. However, BuilderBooks.ai and Builders of AI, LLC are not liable for any loss, theft, corruption, or unauthorized access to your data, whether caused by us, a third-party service provider, or factors outside our reasonable control. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of any critical financial records and for safeguarding your account login credentials.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Builders of AI, LLC and BuilderBooks.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of the Service.

8. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or fail to pay applicable fees.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
